Some students stand out. No one stood out like Andrew Weishar. He was always so happy and willing to give of himself. Even at such a young age, Andrew knew how to treat others. I had the opportunity to coach Andrew sophomore year baseball at Brother Rice. What I remember most, other than that smile, was his willingness to do whatever was best for the team. Throughout the next few years I was able to connect with the Weishar family while at Brother Rice as I also became one of Danny’s teachers. I am truly honored to have been asked to be on the Board of Directors and pay it forward for Andrew.
I attended St. Norbert College in Green Bay, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Upon graduation, I worked for the Beloit Snappers, Class A Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, in sales, food and beverage, merchandising and finally as the General Manager. I then returned to my alma mater, Brother Rice High School, to take on the role of Development Director. During this time, I enrolled in Saint Xavier University’s dual Master’s program where I earned a Master in Applied Computer Science and an MBA. Shifting roles, I took over the school’s marketing program as the Marketing Director and completed my tenure as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement. Currently I am co-owner and Vice President of Residential Lending for The Ironbank Mortgage Group, headquartered in Downers Grove. Additionally, I founded the Mrs. B Foundation in honor of my mother, Eileen Barkowski. I also volunteer as the Vice Chair for the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors Affiliate Committee.
